A banda norte-americana Ignescent retorna com Eternal, álbum produzido por Jeremy Valentine (New Years Day) em parceria com Brandon Wolfe. O trabalho apresenta uma coleção consistente de faixas que transitam pelo metal moderno com fortes elementos eletrônicos e influências do Nu Metal dos anos 2000. Entre os destaques estão “Joker”, “Fearless” — composta em parceria com Sameer Bhattacharya, do Flyleaf — e “Chariot Of Fire”, que conta com a participação especial de Clint Lowery, guitarrista do Sevendust.

Logo na abertura, “Joker” apresenta a identidade sonora do disco. A faixa aposta em vocais carregados de efeitos e em uma melodia marcante, sustentada por um refrão forte e diversas alternâncias dinâmicas entre as partes instrumentais e vocais. Backing vocals masculinos acrescentam textura à composição, enquanto a produção garante clareza e equilíbrio entre os instrumentos.

Em “Scream”, o grupo se aproxima ainda mais das raízes do Nu Metal. A música começa com guitarras de timbre mais sujo e vocais quase falados, criando uma atmosfera que remete diretamente à estética do gênero. O refrão, por sua vez, traz uma abordagem melódica que lembra a escola do Linkin Park, com destaque para os fraseados de piano que reforçam o clima emocional da faixa.

A intensidade retorna em “Fight For Me”, que alterna momentos de peso com passagens mais minimalistas. Após uma introdução pesada, a música desacelera para um trecho praticamente vocal antes de explodir em um refrão envolvente. Mais uma vez, os vocais de Jennifer Benson assumem papel central, demonstrando versatilidade e presença. A bateria com estética eletrônica também chama atenção, reforçando a influência da sonoridade pesada do início dos anos 2000.

“Fearless” surpreende ao iniciar com uma base eletrônica de caráter quase pop, que rapidamente se transforma em uma faixa pesada e cadenciada. O refrão repetitivo na segunda metade da música reforça a atmosfera típica do gênero.

Em “Our Love Dies”, o Ignescent explora um lado mais melódico sem abandonar sua estética moderna. As guitarras pesadas sustentam uma base sólida para os vocais melódicos, que permanecem em destaque durante toda a composição. Os efeitos aplicados à voz continuam presentes, consolidando uma das principais assinaturas sonoras da banda.

O lado mais acessível do álbum surge em “Light Up The Night”, uma balada que revela uma faceta mais suave do grupo. A participação especial aparece em “Chariot Of Fire”, que conta com Clint Lowery, do Sevendust. American band Ignescent returns with Eternal, a new album produced by Jeremy Valentine (New Years Day) alongside Brandon Wolfe. The record delivers a cohesive collection of modern metal tracks infused with strong electronic elements and clear influences from the early-2000s Nu Metal scene. Among the highlights are “Joker”, “Fearless” — co-written with Sameer Bhattacharya of Flyleaf — and “Chariot Of Fire,” featuring a special guest appearance by Clint Lowery of Sevendust.

The album opens with “Joker” a track that immediately establishes the band’s sonic identity. The song blends heavily processed vocals with a strong melodic backbone and a compelling chorus. Dynamic shifts between instrumental and vocal passages add depth to the arrangement, while male backing vocals provide additional texture. The production ensures clarity and balance among the instruments, reinforcing the band’s tight overall performance.

On “Scream” the group leans further into Nu Metal territory.
