O Creye inaugura um novo capítulo em sua trajetória com IV Aftermath, álbum que evidencia não apenas uma renovação de fôlego, mas também um refinamento estético significativo. Impulsionada pela entrada do vocalista Simon Böös e por ajustes pontuais na formação, a banda sueca reafirma sua identidade ao equilibrar com precisão o hard rock melódico clássico com uma abordagem contemporânea. Sob a batuta criativa do guitarrista Andreas Gullstrand, o disco se destaca pela sofisticação das composições, pela produção polida e por uma execução que evidencia maturidade artística.
A abertura com “Something Missing” estabelece imediatamente o tom do trabalho: grandiosa, densa em camadas e com forte presença de teclados, a faixa funciona como um cartão de visitas para a nova fase. Böös impressiona desde os primeiros versos, enquanto a instrumentação alterna entre peso e dinâmica com naturalidade, culminando em um refrão marcante.
Na sequência, “Bad Romance” reforça o compromisso com a tradição do gênero, mas sem abrir mão de elementos modernos. Com “Left in Silence”, o Creye se aproxima do AOR, explorando nuances progressivas nos versos antes de desembocar em um refrão amplo e altamente melódico. Já “Don’t Talk About It” representa o momento mais ousado do álbum, incorporando uma estética próxima ao pop rock eletrônico contemporâneo. Mesmo com forte uso de efeitos e sintetizações, a faixa mantém um elo com o peso característico do gênero.

O encerramento com “Clay” segue a cartilha do hard rock clássico, com introdução marcante e desenvolvimento consistente. O contraste entre a base tradicional e nuances modernas na bateria confere à faixa um caráter atual, encerrando o álbum de forma eficaz.

Driven by the arrival of vocalist Simon Böös and subtle lineup adjustments, the Swedish outfit reaffirms its identity by striking a careful balance between classic melodic hard rock and a contemporary approach. Under the creative direction of guitarist Andreas Gullstrand, the record stands out for its sophisticated songwriting, polished production, and a performance that highlights the band’s artistic maturity.
Opening track “Something Missing” immediately sets the tone: grand, layered, and driven by prominent keyboards, it works as a compelling introduction to this new phase. Böös makes an instant impression, while the instrumentation shifts naturally between weight and dynamics, culminating in a memorable chorus.
