Após revisitar suas raízes no heavy metal melódico com Vera Cruz (2021) e expandir sua proposta conceitual em Eldorado (2023), Edu Falaschi encerra sua ambiciosa trilogia narrativa com "MI'RAJ", um trabalho que consolida não apenas uma saga iniciada há cinco anos, mas também uma das fases mais criativas de sua carreira solo.

Ambientado no Oriente Médio do século XVI, o álbum acompanha o capítulo final da jornada de Jorge, protagonista que atravessa continentes em busca de Janaína, sequestrada pela misteriosa Ordem da Cruz de Nero. Ao longo da narrativa, temas como fé, identidade, sacrifício, amor e transcendência são explorados através de uma mitologia própria que combina elementos históricos, espirituais e fantásticos. Mais do que uma simples conclusão de enredo, "MI'RAJ" funciona como uma reflexão sobre destino, autoconhecimento e redenção.

Musicalmente, Falaschi amplia ainda mais o escopo apresentado nos dois discos anteriores. O power metal segue sendo a espinha dorsal da obra, mas é constantemente enriquecido por elementos de rock progressivo, música sinfônica, heavy metal tradicional e influências orientais que ajudam a reforçar a identidade do álbum. A produção aposta em uma abordagem cinematográfica, repleta de camadas orquestrais e arranjos minuciosamente construídos, sem sacrificar o peso e a energia característicos do gênero.

A presença de convidados como Roy Khan, Veronica Bordacchini e Rafael Bittencourt acrescenta novas cores à experiência, enquanto a estreia do baterista Jean Gardinalli e a crescente importância criativa do guitarrista Victor Franco ajudam a renovar a dinâmica da banda de apoio.

A abertura de "MI'RAJ", "Watchers of the Light", cumpre perfeitamente sua função de transportar o ouvinte para o universo da obra. Introduzida por elementos musicais inspirados no Oriente Médio, a faixa rapidamente evolui para um power metal grandioso e cinematográfico. A combinação entre riffs velozes, orquestrações exuberantes e corais imponentes cria uma atmosfera de aventura que remete aos melhores momentos do gênero. O refrão possui força suficiente para permanecer na memória logo na primeira audição, enquanto as passagens progressivas demonstram a preocupação da banda em equilibrar técnica e narrativa. É uma introdução impactante que estabelece o tom épico do álbum.

Se a faixa anterior aposta no impacto imediato, "Here I Stand" mergulha em uma construção mais elaborada. Os arranjos progressivos ganham protagonismo, especialmente através da interação entre baixo e bateria, que conduzem mudanças de dinâmica constantes sem comprometer a fluidez da composição. Edu Falaschi entrega uma interpretação segura e expressiva, evitando excessos e priorizando a força melódica. A participação de Wagner Barbosa no saxofone é particularmente inspirada, acrescentando novas texturas sem comprometer a identidade metal da faixa. É uma composição que recompensa audições repetidas.

Provavelmente a maior surpresa de MI'RAJ, "Intuição",  rompe momentaneamente com a linguagem predominante do álbum ao incorporar influências da música brasileira e apresentar letra integralmente em português. Longe de soar deslocada, a faixa funciona como um importante momento de introspecção dentro da narrativa. 

A participação de Rafael Bittencourt reforça a conexão histórica entre os músicos e adiciona um toque especial ao arranjo. A riqueza melódica do refrão, aliada ao cuidado com os vocais e às contribuições de Thiago Mineiro ao piano, transforma a canção em um dos momentos mais autênticos e emocionantes do disco. É uma ousadia artística que encontra plena justificativa dentro do contexto da obra.

Depois da atmosfera contemplativa de Intuição, "Circle of Dust" devolve ao álbum sua energia mais agressiva. Trata-se de uma das composições mais diretas de "MI'RAJ", construída sobre uma base rítmica veloz e extremamente precisa. O trabalho de Jean Gardinalli merece destaque especial, sustentando a intensidade da faixa sem comprometer sua clareza. A participação de Roy Khan agrega valor emocional ao refrão e cria um interessante contraste entre os timbres vocais. Mesmo dentro de uma estrutura relativamente tradicional, a composição demonstra refinamento suficiente para evitar qualquer sensação de repetição.

Em contraste com a velocidade da faixa anterior, "On Your Own" aposta na emoção e na construção atmosférica. As orquestrações assumem papel central desde os primeiros instantes, criando um cenário ideal para uma interpretação carregada de sentimento. O refrão, impulsionado por um belo coral de inspiração gospel, figura entre os momentos mais memoráveis do álbum. Há uma elegância evidente em todos os aspectos da composição, desde os arranjos até a produção, reforçando a capacidade de Falaschi de construir baladas grandiosas sem recorrer ao sentimentalismo excessivo.

O encerramento da trilogia não poderia acontecer de outra forma. "Wrath Into the War" reúne praticamente todos os elementos que definem o álbum: velocidade, melodias marcantes, corais grandiosos e uma forte carga épica. Desde os primeiros acordes, a composição assume o papel de clímax narrativo e musical da obra. 

O refrão é poderoso, os arranjos instrumentais mantêm a tensão elevada durante toda a execução e a sensação de urgência permanece intacta até os momentos finais. Como conclusão, a faixa entrega exatamente o que se espera de um desfecho dessa magnitude: intensidade, emoção e um sentimento de encerramento genuinamente satisfatório.

Ao longo de seus pouco mais de sessenta minutos, "MI'RAJ" demonstra uma rara combinação de ambição artística e capacidade de execução. Poucos músicos do metal brasileiro contemporâneo possuem a confiança necessária para construir uma trilogia conceitual dessa magnitude e, menos ainda, conseguem encerrá-la de maneira satisfatória.

Se "Vera Cruz" representava o início de uma nova fase e Eldorado expandiu seus horizontes narrativos, "MI'RAJ" surge como a obra que une todas as peças do quebra-cabeça. O álbum não apenas entrega alguns dos momentos mais inspirados da carreira solo de Edu Falaschi, como também reforça sua posição entre os principais compositores do heavy metal latino-americano, e mundial, porque não?

Embora a abundância de elementos sinfônicos e progressivos possa exigir mais dedicação do ouvinte em comparação aos trabalhos anteriores, é justamente essa riqueza de detalhes que transforma "MI'RAJ" em uma experiência recompensadora. Trata-se de um disco que valoriza audições repetidas, revelando novas camadas a cada retorno.

Mais do que o encerramento de uma trilogia, "MI'RAJ" representa a consolidação de uma visão artística. É um álbum grandioso, tecnicamente impecável e emocionalmente envolvente, destinado a ocupar lugar de destaque entre os lançamentos mais relevantes do power metal em 2026.

After reconnecting with his melodic heavy metal roots on Vera Cruz (2021) and expanding his conceptual ambitions with Eldorado (2023), Edu Falaschi brings his epic narrative trilogy to a close with MI'RAJ, an album that not only concludes a saga five years in the making but also cements one of the most creative periods of his solo career.

Set in the Middle East during the 16th century, the album follows the final chapter in the journey of Jorge, a protagonist who crosses continents in search of Janaína, kidnapped by the mysterious Order of the Cross of Nero. Throughout the story, themes such as faith, identity, sacrifice, love, and transcendence are explored through a rich mythology that blends historical, spiritual, and fantastical elements. More than a simple conclusion to a storyline, MI'RAJ serves as a meditation on destiny, self-discovery, and redemption.

Musically, Falaschi further expands the scope established on the previous two albums. Power metal remains the backbone of the record, but it is consistently enriched by elements of progressive rock, symphonic music, traditional heavy metal, and Middle Eastern influences that reinforce the album’s unique identity. The production embraces a cinematic approach, filled with orchestral layers and meticulously crafted arrangements without sacrificing the power and energy that define the genre.

The presence of guest musicians such as Roy Khan, Veronica Bordacchini, and Rafael Bittencourt adds new colors to the experience, while the debut of drummer Jean Gardinalli and the growing creative influence of guitarist Victor Franco help revitalize the dynamic of Falaschi’s backing band.

Opening the album, "Watchers of the Light" perfectly fulfills its role of transporting the listener into the world of MI'RAJ. Introduced by Middle Eastern-inspired musical motifs, the song quickly evolves into a grandiose and cinematic power metal statement. The combination of blazing riffs, lush orchestration, and imposing choirs creates a sense of adventure reminiscent of the genre’s finest moments. The chorus is memorable from the very first listen, while the progressive passages demonstrate the band's commitment to balancing technical prowess with storytelling. It is a powerful opening statement that establishes the album’s epic tone.

If its predecessor relies on immediate impact, "Here I Stand" takes a more intricate approach. Progressive arrangements take center stage, particularly through the interaction between bass and drums, which drive constant shifts in dynamics without disrupting the composition’s flow. Falaschi delivers a confident and expressive performance, avoiding excess in favor of melodic strength. Arguably the album’s biggest surprise, "Intuição" temporarily breaks away from the prevailing musical language by incorporating Brazilian influences and featuring lyrics sung entirely in Portuguese. Far from feeling out of place, the song functions as an important moment of introspection within the narrative. Rafael Bittencourt’s participation reinforces the long-standing connection between the musicians while adding an extra layer of significance to the arrangement. The richness of the chorus, combined with carefully crafted vocal harmonies and Thiago Mineiro’s elegant piano work, transforms the song into one of the album’s most authentic and emotionally rewarding moments. It is a bold artistic choice that finds full justification within the broader context of the record.

After the contemplative atmosphere of "Intuição", "Circle of Dust" restores the album’s more aggressive energy. One of the most straightforward compositions on MI'RAJ, it is built upon a fast and exceptionally precise rhythmic foundation. Jean Gardinalli deserves special recognition for sustaining the song’s intensity without sacrificing clarity. Roy Khan’s guest appearance adds emotional weight to the chorus while creating an intriguing contrast between the vocal timbres. Even within a relatively traditional structure, the song displays enough refinement to avoid any sense of repetition.

In contrast to the speed of its predecessor, "On Your Own" places its focus firmly on emotion and atmosphere. Orchestral arrangements take center stage from the outset, creating the ideal backdrop for one of Falaschi’s most heartfelt performances. Driven by a beautiful gospel-inspired choir, the chorus ranks among the album’s most memorable moments. There is a clear elegance in every aspect of the composition, from the arrangements to the production, further demonstrating Falaschi’s ability to craft grandiose ballads without descending into sentimentality.

The trilogy could hardly have ended in a more fitting fashion than with "Wrath Into the War". The closing track encapsulates nearly everything that defines the album: speed, memorable melodies, towering choirs, and a strong epic sensibility. From its opening moments, the song assumes the role of both narrative and musical climax. The chorus is powerful, the instrumental arrangements sustain tension throughout, and the sense of urgency remains intact until the final note. As a conclusion, it delivers exactly what one would expect from a finale of this scale: intensity, emotion, and a genuinely satisfying sense of closure.

Across its slightly more than sixty-minute running time, MI'RAJ showcases a rare combination of artistic ambition and execution. Few figures in contemporary Brazilian metal possess the confidence required to build a conceptual trilogy of this magnitude, and even fewer manage to bring it to such a convincing conclusion.

If Vera Cruz marked the beginning of a new chapter and Eldorado expanded its narrative horizons, MI'RAJ is the work that brings every piece of the puzzle together. Not only does it contain some of the finest moments of Edu Falaschi’s solo career, but it also reinforces his standing as one of the leading composers in Latin American heavy metal—and arguably on the global stage as well.

While the abundance of symphonic and progressive elements may demand greater attention from the listener compared to its predecessors, it is precisely this wealth of detail that makes MI'RAJ such a rewarding experience. This is an album that benefits enormously from repeated listens, revealing new layers and nuances with each return.

More than simply the conclusion of a trilogy, MI'RAJ represents the consolidation of an artistic vision. Grand in scope, technically impeccable, and emotionally engaging, it stands as one of the most significant power metal releases of 2026.
